PTO Accrual Calculator result
What this means: 12 eligible periods produce 48 hours; 68 hours is available before use and 52 hours remains.
Formula, assumptions & limitations
Inputs used: Starting/carryover PTO balance (hours); PTO earned per eligible pay period (hours); Completed pay periods; Waiting periods with no accrual; PTO used after accrual (hours); Maximum balance before use (0 = no cap); Carryover limit already applied to starting balance (0 = no limit); Hours in one workday.
Method: Whole waiting periods are removed before accrual. An optional carryover limit applies to the starting balance, then earned PTO is added and the optional maximum-balance cap is applied before entered use.
This is one visible policy sequence. Policies may prorate, front-load, expire on a date, cap dynamically, distinguish leave types, or apply carryover and use in another order. Confirm plan documents and applicable law.

How this tool works
PTO earned equals accrual per pay period × whole completed periods. The optional cap limits starting balance plus accrual before entered use; blocked accrual and uncovered use are shown separately.
Assumptions
Only whole completed pay periods accrue PTO. The optional maximum-balance cap applies before entered PTO use, and blocked accrual is shown separately.
Limits to know
The result follows the entered accrual rate, starting balance, and cap. Eligibility dates, carryover, waiting periods, leave use, policy changes, and jurisdictional requirements are not inferred.
