Inputs used: Conditioned area (sq ft); Ceiling height (ft); Climate/insulation adjustment (%); Occupants above two; Exterior doors; Large sun-facing windows; Kitchen adjustment (BTU/hr); Existing system capacity (BTU/hr).

Method: Uses a broad area-and-ceiling-height rule, then applies the entered climate/insulation, occupancy, door, window, and kitchen adjustments.

This broad screening estimate is not equipment sizing. A qualified ACCA Manual J calculation should account for construction, insulation, infiltration, ducts, humidity, orientation, occupancy, and local design temperatures before equipment selection.
