How this tool works

For each inch above 5 feet, Robinson adds 1.9 kg (male) or 1.7 kg (female) to 52/49 kg; Miller adds 1.41/1.36 kg to 56.2/53.1 kg; Devine adds 2.3 kg to 50/45.5 kg; and Hamwi adds 2.7/2.2 kg to 48/45.5 kg. The tool does not extrapolate below 5 feet.

Limits to know

The four formulas are historical height-and-sex references originally used in clinical or dosing contexts. They are not applied below 5 feet and do not account for body composition, disability, ethnicity, age, pregnancy, or personal health goals; they are not clinical targets.
