How this tool works

The group generator cleans the participant list, shuffles eligible entries, and distributes them across groups according to the selected group size.

Assumptions

Blank and case-insensitive duplicate participant lines are removed. The selected group size is a balancing target, or is derived by ceiling(participants ÷ requested groups); keep-together constraints may override that target.

Limits to know

Constraints are best-effort. Unknown names and malformed pairs are ignored; impossible keep-apart rules produce warnings, and an oversized keep-together set can exceed the selected target group size. Review every group for accessibility, safety, and instructional needs before use.
