Desired servings ÷ original servings produces the scale factor applied to every ingredient. Optional cooking fractions round the displayed quantity to the nearest supported practical fraction while the underlying scale factor remains visible.

Limits to know

Scaling changes ingredient quantities, not necessarily cooking time, pan capacity, fermentation, seasoning response, or food safety. Very small quantities and practical fractions require judgment.
