Clicks are scheduled about 120 ms ahead on the Web Audio timeline to reduce main-thread jitter. Device audio latency, sleep, Bluetooth buffering, heavy CPU load, and browser background policies can still affect what you hear.

How this tool works
The metronome converts BPM and subdivision to seconds per click, then uses a 25 ms lookahead loop to schedule about 120 ms of oscillator events on the Web Audio timeline. Meter position changes the downbeat frequency and level.
Assumptions
Tempo and subdivision determine the Web Audio schedule interval. Meter position accents the first beat, and the first start is a user gesture so browser audio can be enabled.
Limits to know
Web Audio scheduling reduces ordinary callback jitter but cannot remove speaker latency, wireless-audio delay, device load, sleep, or browser suspension. It is a practice aid, not a certified tempo instrument.
